A $100 Million Investment in Value-Added Agriculture
As the lead consultant for a multi-billion-dollar private agricultural company, TWG successfully helped the client to make this transformative investment in West Africa. TWG secured much needed investment incentives and protections while supporting the client in negotiated agreements that secured the supply of essential commodities and minimized investment risks. TWG was also the lead external advisor for the investment on government affairs, media relations and stakeholder engagement.
A Major Infrastructure project in East Africa
TWG played a leading role in developing the winning EPC+F (nearly $2B) project for a global Asian-led business consortium. For this pioneering project, TWG designed sustainability initiatives to boost local employment and skills transfer; health interventions; and, enterprise development.
Resolution of A Significant Trademark Dispute
A public consumer goods company, (then-market cap $10b), encountered a high-profile trademark dispute that adversely impacted share price and brand equity. In close consultation with the company’s Chairman, CEO and Corporate Board, TWG played a significant role in designing and executing the strategy the culminated into an agreement and enduring resolution.
Market Expansion and Brand Equity in Africa
In a multiyear engagement for a Fortune 100 Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company, TWG was the lead external advisor delivering expanded market share for the client and pioneering sustainability and transcontinental branding initiatives. In deftly navigating regulatory regimes, TWG won measure to better protect the client’s investment.
A Series of Partnerships in Health
For a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company and under separate agreement a pharmaceutical industry association, TWG developed a series of partnerships for pharma companies with African health and government stakeholders. TWG’s scope of successful engagement also included delivery of an anti-counterfeit medicine movement that included a number of African NGOs and civil society leaders; coordination of annual US visits for African health policy leaders for consultations and engagement with US Pharma executives on issues ranging for cooperation on the HIV/AIDs epidemic; intellectual property protections; collaboration in the WTO; and anti-malaria interventions.
On the commercial side, TWG demystified government and international aid procurement procedures and decision-making processes that led to the delivery of medicines on mutually beneficial terms. TWG not only designed branding and commercial expansion strategies but also delivered customized training in government affairs and sales in Africa.
Investment in Oil & Gas
TWG was instrumental in supporting a US oil company (new market entrant to Africa) secure significant oil blocs in a West African country. TWG developed the first visit of the company’s chairman to the West African country which subsequently led to significant investments by the firm. TWG subsequently represented yet another major US oil investor in Africa successfully resolving a myriad of regulatory and other disputes. From market entry to the company’s eventual market exit, TWG’s multiyear engagement was lauded as a key catalyst in the company’s success.
Dominion TV: Leading the rise of Africa’s next-generation Christian media
In 2017, we acquired a major stake and assumed management control of Dominion Television, a faith-based Pan-African TV, entertainment, and multimedia company. Through strategic re-engineering, Dominion TV has positioned itself as a powerhouse in media tailored for Africa’s growing Christian population.
Sub-Saharan Africa is poised to become the epicenter of global Christianity over the next 50 years, with 631 million Christians making up 45% of the continent’s population. This figure does not include the millions of Africans in the U.S. and European diaspora — a vast, underserved audience eager for inspiring, values-driven content.
Dominion TV curates and produces content that speaks directly to this dynamic demographic, offering ethical and uplifting programming. At the heart of its growth strategy is Africa’s status as the world’s youngest continent, where 60% of the population is under 25.
