In a recent interview with Just The News‘ John Solomon and Amanda Head, Rosa Whitaker, President and CEO of The Whitaker Group, shared timely reflections on the future of U.S.–Africa trade and investment and why renewing the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) remains essential.
Rosa highlighted the importance of ensuring Americans have access to clear, fact-based conversations about why U.S.–Africa economic engagement matters—not only for Africa’s growth, but for American jobs, resilient supply chains, and long-term U.S. economic security.
As global trade dynamics continue to evolve, she stressed that informed public dialogue is critical to sustaining strong partnerships and protecting U.S. competitiveness.
Looking ahead, Whitaker remains optimistic about the policy’s future: “I think we will get a one-year extension for AGOA,” she said, outlining her vision for a “stronger, longer-lasting” framework for U.S.–Africa trade.
